Biodiversity is the lifeblood of the planet due to its range of benefits such as maintaining the ecological balance;climate regulation; regulation of hydrological cycle, recycling of nutrients to mention a few.The presence of diverse organisms in ecosystems helps stabilise the environment, provide humanity with essential and basic amenities like habitats, building materials, generating revenue through tourism and recreational activities.
